Visiting with Sensory Santa – December 2016

Melissa Dodge organized the annual Sensory Santa and Clothing/Toy Exchange event held at the Arc on December 17, 2016. Tammy Fraley (http://fraleyphotography.pixieset.com/) took over 150 photographs, including shots of Melissa’s family and our Chapter Board of Directors. Thanks go out to Melissa, her Mom’s Group volunteers, the Scouts, our ASW volunteers, the Arc, and Sensory Santa! A fun time was had by all.

Local young artists donate auction pieces to Combined Fund Drive fundraiser

The WA State Combined Fund Drive is the giving program for employees and retirees of Washington State workplaces (read more here). In one of their events in November 2016, artwork was auctioned off as part of their Annual Campaign. Here are two pieces purchased by Neatha Lefevre, our chapter Secretary/Treasurer. Both were donated by local young artists on the autism spectrum.

Check out the full gallery here.

Thanks to Caleb, Gavin, and all the artists who donated their time and talent in support of the CFD event. ASW is one of the many charitable organizations that CFD supports.

Thanks to our generous donors for supporting our Summer Picnic!

On July 31 we joined Autism Empowerment for a fun summer picnic. Thanks to our generous donors:

  • Bi-Zi Farms once again provided corn, watermelon, and fresh produce for the burger fixings. Peggy Zimmerman has been a loyal supporter of ASW for many years and we always enjoy the fresh roasted corn at our annual event.
  • Whole Foods provided fresh produce and store credit for gluten/casein-free foods.
  • Franz Bakery provided the hot dog and hamburger buns, including gluten-free buns, at a special reduced price.

We greatly appreciate the support we receive from our donors!
